affordable inner space is a new label-project from electronique.it. the concept is simple, we still try to produce affordable emotions with beautiful music. a bit different from our main label, ais is focused on the conjuntion with acoustic and electronic instruments in a free way. no barriers. in this first chapter we are pleased to announce a new album from the multi instrumentalist massimo amato also known as mono-drone. an enchanting work where massimo has put in the music his deep influences, from hypnotic and spacey krautrock to the bliss ambient soundscapes and post-rock accelerations.

where to now? records are proud to welcome back space afrika, following their long sold out debut release ‘above / below the concrete’. this four track 12” ‘primrose avenue’ can be seen as a continuation of the themes and ideas explored on that debut, but pushes the manchester duos palette of scorched inner city soundscapes, considered field recordings and rolling dubbed out techno dread further than ever before.

uk house veteran phil asher arrives on rekids with the latest project in his storied career, a collaboration with emergent london poet & musician james massiah. having chanced upon him a performance during a fiona bevan presents night at dalstons servants jazz quarters, asher immediately approached massiah about a possible collaboration: as soon as i heard james i knew i had to work with him. his poetry is infectious, textured & interesting. time & space took years to imagine but 25 minutes to write. it took james approximately the same amount of time to lay his poem down. asher approached matt edwards with the results, and the time & space ep was confirmed for release on rekids: two original cuts of futuristic house emboldened by massiahs electrifying street poetry, and a reprise version of the title track which steps away from the dancefloor to bring the lyrical content into sharper focus

this music wont disappoint anyone who still looks to techno as the music of new ideas.

adventures in deep space is a reflection of the wonder and complexity of recognizing that we as humans are creatures with a limited capacity stranded on a planet somewhere in the universe searching for meaning and purpose while also recognizing that what we do every moment can shape the outcome of our future on earth and might ultimately become small and meaningful stitching s that could shape the fabric of our future in space.

it is no easy task to blend the cerebral with the soulful - the two tend to stand at opposing corners in the deep house world and producers are often forced to choose one or the other - to mix both is a lofty aim. maddermodes may not have set out with this merger in mind when launching the project - mental space - but the end result is striking in its effortless fusion. released under the artists own label, shift coordinate points, the ep consists of two tracks: mental space and human science. the titles, of course, lead one to assume there will be a strong degree of technicality and complexity behind the songs and indeed there is, what is surprising is the level of personality and moodiness that also exists.
